Charlotte Rose Kelly from Braintree, MA was an otherwise healthy two-year-old girl in June 2009 when she was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, a type of rare pediatric cancer. If love could have saved her she would have been cured. Charlotte lost her battle with this devastating disease on December 7, 2011 at the age of five. Each year in her honor, about 3,000 racers, spectators and sponsors gather at Bayshore Athletic Club for a 5k/10k run which raises funds for neuroblastoma research and support for families fighting cancer.
